Curriculum updated 5 November 2026
UI/UX Designer
This curriculum builds practical skills in designing user experiences and interfaces for digital products. It introduces product design processes, user flows, wireframes, UI design, prototyping, responsive design, design systems, usability, and collaboration between UI/UX Designers, Product Owners, and developers.
After onboarding, interns contribute to real company projects with guidance from a UI/UX Designer mentor. Work includes understanding requirements, creating user flows, wireframes, and mockups, developing prototypes, using and extending design systems, reviewing designs, evaluating usability, and preparing designs for implementation with developers.
Project tasks are matched to your skills and learning progress.
An introduction to the workplace, digital product development, the UI/UX Designer’s role in a team, the workflow from requirements to implementation, Figma, core UI/UX principles, design systems, responsive design, and collaboration with Product Owners and developers.
Begin contributing to a real company project by understanding requirements and the existing product, creating user flows, wireframes, and mockups, and refining designs with mentor guidance. Learn about components, design systems, responsive layouts, design reviews, and revisions.
Translate product needs into user journeys and initial interface designs on a real project. Activities include understanding requirements and existing flows, creating user flows and information hierarchies, wireframing, and iterating through discussions with the Product Owner, mentor, and relevant stakeholders.
Develop wireframes into high-fidelity interfaces in Figma for a real company project. Apply visual hierarchy, typography, spacing, layout, reusable components, and interaction states, then create interactive prototypes to show feature flows and behavior before implementation.
Use and extend the design system on a real project to keep product design consistent and scalable. Work with components and variants, maintain UI patterns, design for different screen sizes, and adapt patterns for reuse across product pages and features.
Evaluate usability and design quality on a real project, review UI implementation with developers, and identify gaps between the design and the built interface. Refine designs based on feedback, usability issues, product needs, and technical constraints found during development.
Take greater ownership of one or more feature designs on a real project, from requirements and user flows through wireframes, UI design, prototyping, responsive design, and design handoff. Review implementation with developers and complete the design through feedback and iteration with the product team.
